The Reading League announced that it will onboard six new state chapters in January 2026, further strengthening its national network dedicated to advancing evidence-aligned reading instruction. New chapters will launch in Arizona, Arkansas, Hawai’i, Mississippi, Nebraska, and North Dakota.

The Reading League Texas is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Patty Coté as its new executive director. This appointment marks the first full-time leadership position across The Reading League’s national chapter network and signals a significant milestone in the organization’s growth and its support for Texas educators and students.

The Reading League has named noted reading scholar Jessica Toste, Ph.D., its newest editor-in-chief of The Reading League Journal, the premier publication dedicated to connecting the science of reading with educators’ professional practices.

Maria Murray, Ph.D, president and chief executive officer of The Reading League, or TRL, has been named nonprofit executive of the year by the CNY Business Journal. The award recognizes Murray’s leadership, vision, and profound impact as a national proponent of evidence-aligned reading instruction.

The Reading League is proud to launch its Curriculum Navigation Reports. This long-awaited resource will guide educators and decision makers in reviewing and selecting curricula’s alignment with the scientific evidence base.
